It seems like none of us like to think that we may need nursing home care one day, but according to government statistics just over 50% of all Americans do need special care at some time in their lives. The problem with nursing home care is the cost – and the cost of nursing home insurance is going up almost every week. Fortunately there are several things you can do to lower the cost of your monthly premium and there’s one very simple thing you can do – a deep, dark little secret that your broker hopes you’ll never find out about – that will cut the cost of your coverage by approximately 30% in less than 30 minutes!

Would you rather lower your home insurance or suffer from it?

It helps to make your home insurance cut the costs. You have to be resourceful in getting all the information that you might need when it comes to deals about your home insurance. This includes anything that you think might help you to increase your deductible. Just stick to one insurer instead of contacting different persons for your insured properties if possible. Make an effort to make sure your home is secured from any crimes or disasters like fire, floods, earthquakes or anything that can damage your lovable home. Lastly, read and understand what is stated in your home insurance policy.

When looking insurance companies, there are several questions that you will want to ask before purchasing — in addition to price of the home policy package, quality of service, speed in settling claims, and differences in coverage.

First and foremost, the insurance company must be licensed to transact business in your state. Check with your state department of insurance to make certain that the company offering you insurance is an “admitted” insurance company in your state. An un-authorized insurer may come into your local area offering insurance without a license, offering cheap rates but not being legally allowed to offer insurance.

A person might not have a problem with home insurance company itself but he/she may have conflicts/issues with its staffs, particularly its brokers. Brokers are the ones who directly communicate with potential buyers. They may be good at entertaining you at the start of the transaction but once you have completed your payments and the broker will not get anything from you anymore he/she may disappear and will not have any interest of accommodating your questions or demands. Brokers, receiving low commissions for upgrading a certain insurance policy, lack the interest of going to you and offer latest policies that might give you more benefits. At the end of the day, the name of the home insurance company will not solely determine the quality of service you will receive, it is still up to the brokers/staffs that are directly transacting with you.

Do you know the importance of having a homeowners insurance? It’s simply because it covers the most important things you have – your home, possessions, your assents and your additional living expenses.

It is advantageous if you rebuild or repair you home after it has been damaged by fire, smoke, water pipes, vandalism or acts of nature (and we can’t control that). It doesn’t actually pay for damages caused by floods or earthquakes, but you can still avail a separate insurance as protection from these natural disasters.

Your possessions are your most prized personal items like appliances, furniture, clothing among others that was unfortunately damaged by fire, smoke, water pipes, vandalism or acts of nature (I told you we can’t really control that!). Coverage for expensive items like furs, computers, jewelries and antiques might be limited, but you can buy an additional insurance for these stuff if needed.

You are stuck at home due to a heavy rain which eventually caused a big flood. You’re inside your home taking a look outside then you saw this beautiful car that is almost drowning due to the high waters caused by the rain. You will really feel sorry to the owner of the luxury car.

In reality, this scenario will cause you a lot of trouble. You might need to get your car fixed or worse, have it replaced due to the damage in the machine and the water got inside. Some might ask if this is also covered by a flooding insurance? I guess not. You’ll have to get a car insurance that covers flooding.

It is important that you lower your deductible. These are the money that you pay toward a claim before the insurer will pay you. By doing this, you’ll be prevented from making a number of small claims that can cause your insurer to withdraw your policy. Lowering your deductible will also help you save money. Isn’t that great?

Having safety and security devices such as dead bolts, alarms, window locks, sprinkler systems and fire extinguishers installed will provide you with a discount that you aimed for on your policy and will make your home a happy and safe place to live in.

Aside from some of the fake insurance companies out there that you have to avoid, you also have to be precautious about the real ones. Why? Some of them have policies that are so tricky that sometimes people can’t understand in just one sitting. Take for instance the issue of flood.

Normally, the coverage of your home regarding floods is only limited to water–related issues. Now, what if your home gets devastated by mudslide? And that mudslide was due to the heavy downpour that happened the other day?

Sad to say, but some insurance companies do not qualify mudslide as something water-related as they consider mudslide as the movement of the surface of the earth – even though the cause was clearly flood-related. Be sure to ask questions about it before you make the deal.

Debt consolidation program allows us to make use of our insurance loans to pay of what remains of others. This is usually done to secure a lower interest rate, protect a fixed interest rate or for the expediency of servicing only a insurance sole loan.
Debt consolidation insurance programs can simply be in the form of a number of unsecured loans into another set of unsecured loans. Typically though, it involves a secured loan against a particular asset, may it be a car or a house. These ate the things that will be covered by the insurance company. This serves as collateral for the company involved. Most firm prefer house. In cases like this, a mortgage is secured for the house. The collateralization of the loan availed allows a lower interest rate compared to those without it. This is because by collateralizing, the house or that particular asset, the owner agrees to permit the forced sale (also known as foreclosure) of the asset to pay back the loan from the company or the lender. Through this, the risk to the lender is reduced so much so that the interest rate offered is lower significantly.

When applying for a home insurance, it is advisable that you know the insides of your house. Everything inside it should be taken into consideration in order for you to have a basis when the time comes that you need to use your insurance. Accidents can never be predicted. The damages they will cost can never be calculated in advance. In this case, listing it down and taking videos/pictures of all the parts and content of your house is said to be helpful and essential when dealing with house insurance companies. These files will serve as your basis in estimating the cost of the damage and will then make your transaction with the home insurance company smoother, easier, and faster.
